New England Copperworks’ lanterns are hand made to the exacting standards of our very particular craftsmen. We use heavy gauge copper and hand spin our parts for seamless strength and beauty. Our lanterns are available with clear or seedy glass and either a natural or weathered finish.

Clear or Seedy Glass ?
Both types of glass provide bright and clear light; it’s a matter of personal preference. Seedy glass contains air bubbles, called seeds, and has a more textured appearance that resembles the sparkled effect of raindrops on glass.

Finish Facts

Natural – In its original state, copper has a shiny sheen. When exposed to the elements, it weathers naturally to a rich patina, forming a protective coating that adds strength and durability.

Weathered – Using an oxidation process, we speed up copper’s natural life cycle to produce a weathered finish, which will continue to mature over time to its characteristic patina.

Caring for Your Lantern
Your lantern needs little attention. To clean the globe, simply remove the bulb and wipe with glass cleaner and a soft cloth. All lanterns use standard light bulbs, which are easy to replace.
